The Tavern on the 10th Street: Sweet Sizzles

No comments:

The city traffic and heat is unbearable, especially now that roads are under construction. I took a cab to Aurora Subdivision (Tan Guzman Building) for the on-the-spot over Twitter conversation lunch with the best buds. I ended up paying more than the usual because of the traffic along Diversion Road, but nevertheless tasting the sizzling brownie for the first time was worth the pain in the pocket.

The Tavern on the 10th Street was the meet-up place. I heard about this restaurant before but never had the chance to try it for myself. Since the working buddies are just around "the corner", everyone agreed to eat here. Just make a turn at the Sports Thing Tailoring along Gen. Luna Street, upon entering Ibarra St. you will see the TAVERN signboard on it.

Photos taken by everyone's gadget. Haha!
I love the homey feeling this little space gave me. But most of all, I love how Tavern gave a twist of new flavors to the usual restaurant dishes. There is something exciting about trying fresh in the eyes cooking, and Tavern fulfilled that kind of enthusiasm.

Fish and Chips (Php150)
We had salty spicy potato chips, but the spices dominated my taste buds which was a thumbs up for me. :) Crispy fish is crispy. It comes with a Honey Mustard Dip and the serving size was big enough.

Ratatouille Pasta (Php80)
Fettuccine with tomato sauce and cuts of vegetables. The sauce and veggies were equally tasty, giving us the favorable kind of sourness.

Creamy Carbonara (Php85)
Unlike other white pasta, Tavern's Creamy Carbonara is sweet! I never liked sweetness in pasta sauce but today's an exception. Haha!

Crazy Potatoes (Php65)
I don't know why they are called crazy. lol Sorry I had no idea on what's seasoned in the potato wedges, not paying attention again.  Maybe butter or cheese?

Sizzling Brownie ala Mode (Php70)
It was my first time to see such dessert. I thought sizzling dishes were only for main courses. The chocolate syrup or whatever it is, was poured on the brownie topped with ice cream. And voila, smokey and sizzling treat for dessert. I actually took a video of this through IG but I can't post it. :|

We also wanted to try Tavern's Ice Cream Burger, unfortunately, it was not available that time. :( What I will certainly remember about this place is tasting all sorts of flavors genuinely combined. Check out Tavern's menu and plan your visit!
