Dahilayan Adventure Park: Fly by Wire

No comments:

When I was young, every time someone asked me what kind of super power I want to have, I always answer "the ability to fly". I always had dreams (literally dreaming while sleeping) of being able to fly and the feeling is so real, as if, I really did fly. Until now, I still wonder how it really feels to be able to go up in the sky. The feeling of riding inside the airplane and seeing the aerial view of the islands is different than being out there and really flying like a bird.

And since I was spending my last two weeks in Cagayan de Oro, I grabbed the opportunity to travel to Bukidnon and experience for myself Asia's longest zipline. Dahilayan Adventure Park in Bukidnon is absolutely one of the most favorite tourist destinations when staying in Northern Mindanao.

For those in Cagayan de Oro area, you can visit Dahilayan Adventure Park's booking office at Corrales Avenue corner Ramon Chavez St. or simply contact 09228801319/09176223204. I went to their office on a Saturday to book for Monday's back and forth car service (Php350) from Coffeeworks in Divisoria to Bukidnon and vice versa. No need to pay for Zipzone at their office because there is a ticketing booth in Dahilayan Adventure Park where you will claim a ticket for the zipline after paying.

I love long drives and I always want to sit by the window. Even when I ride the airplane, I always tell the attendant who assigns the plane seats, to put me near the window. I am really fond of looking outside and daydream. The shuttle from Coffeeworks left at 8:30AM and after an hour, I was seeing mountains and pineapple plantations (owned by Del Monte).

We arrived at around 10AM and when I came out of the shuttle, I was like a kid- not knowing where to set my eyes on and looking for spots where I can have my photo taken.

I chose the All Rides Zip Package of course. It includes Zipline 320m + 150m and 840m.

I first tried the 320m and 150m. And so that is me, preparing for take off.. with a guy I don't know.

Flying and sitting at the same time.
I ended up in the Ropes Course Area a.k.a my playground.

So many pine trees! It gave me the "Twilight" vibes and it was cold, for real!

After some sightseeing, I went to try the Asia's longest zipline! The Zipzone 840m! We had to ride at a 4x4 and we were brought to the Launch Tower which was up high in the mountain. The group of people I was with kept on shouting and praying on the way up because there were big rocks and it was as if we were going to fall from the mountain. But I was honestly loving that moment. Teehee. :P

Safety first! The crew placed on my helmet and full body harness on my way to the launch tower. In the two previous ziplines, we were just sitting but for 840m you will fly like Superman!

Ladies and gentlemen, that is the view from the Launch Tower. When the crew pushed me from the Launch Tower, I felt like I was Wendy (I don't want Peter Pan! Haha!). I passed by the forest of pine trees and there where other open areas wherein I felt I was a bird (okay I felt all the emotions). I opened my arms as if I had wings and finally, my long time dream, came true- even just for a minute or two.

Two thumbs up for the experience!

After that, I was suppose to have lunch at Pine Grove Lodge. I appreciate the waiter for being honest enough to tell me that I have to wait for an hour if I want to eat there since there were 8 other orders before me. He didn't want me to get mad of waiting. So I looked for other restaurants and went to Cowboy's Grill.

Salisbury Steak with Vegetables and Mustard (loved the veggies) for Php150. I was disappointed because I first ordered Pork Steak (Php205) but after 40 MINUTES, they informed me that it was not available. So I had to wait for a few more minutes. I waited for an hour all in all. Gaaaah!

But anyway, after lunch, I went back to DAP and went to the photobooth. I took a hard copy of my zipline moment photo with a certificate for Php100. Yes, they gave me a certificate for conquering Asia's longest zipline.

And so, I was really really happy for the certificate. Although I think they have to fill up the certificate to make it look legit. :) When afternoon came, it started to rain so hard and zipline activities were cancelled. Good thing I was able to make it in the morning. At 3PM we left the place and went back to CdO City. <3
