Rainbow Cake, Color My World

During my two-month stay in Cagayan de Oro, Missy Bon Bon ( at Limketkai Center) was definitely my favorite hang out place because of the ambiance and the food. I also love buying my pastel (Cagayan de Oro's famous delicacy) from this resto because of the packaging. I'm a packaging engineer and you wouldn't blame me if I buy a product because of its packaging. Anyway, since tomorrow is Mother's Day, Missy Bon Bon is going to serve Rainbow Cakes as special treats for the mothers. So for those in who are in CdO, consider this as a surprise gift for you mom. If only I can bring Missy Bon Bon to Iloilo! :)

Today, I went around Iloilo City and I ended up in Yvonne's Cakeworks located beside St. Clement's Church in La Paz. It's just a small cafe but they are well known for doing grand wedding cakes.

And I found Iloilo's version of Rainbow Cake (Php65/slice)- layers of chiffon cake, cream in between and sprinkled with peanuts,  for Mother's Day. So I got myself a slice and paired it with a Watermelon fruit drink.

Aside from this Rainbow Cake, they also have Strawberry/ Blueberry Cheesecakes- some perfect treats for your Nanay/Mama/Mommy tomorrow. But always remember that the best gift, comes from the heart, no matter what it is. Our mothers will always appreciate every little happy thing that their children do to them.
