Glor's Broadway Cafe: Glorious Burgers

No comments:

Imagine this, a burger cafe 17 years older than I am (since 1974), a burger cafe I always passed through down town and a burger cafe that's truly Ilonggo- Glor's Burger Cafe! I grabbed the chance to taste something that's been in my hometown for almost four decades. Jessie wanted to check-in at Foursquare and he didn't know if he's going to check in at Jane's Broadway Cafe or Glor's Burger. So to combine these two, I'm making it Glor's Broadway Cafe. But checking google map, it says Glor's Burger only. The real name is: Glor's Hamburger and Broadway Cafe.

I bet most of you will be surprised as I am to know that it's just near the entrance of Unitop (referring to another entrance, not the main entrance near Jollibee) and the stalls for DVDs along Ledesma Street. Seriously, I passed there a thousand times and I even kept on ignoring the sales people offering me to buy DVDs. I didn't even bother to stop by and take a look before because I thought it was a typical place offering cooked food for lunch and dinner.

Inside were framed Broadway show posters and playbills. Correct me if I'm wrong but I've read that these posters were original and came all the way from New York City. I even saw signed posters from the actors and you're definitely going crazy to see Vanessa Williams (whom I thought was Angelina Jollie at first look) or Lea Salonga's signed sketches on the wall. :)
Glor's Super Deluxe Burger (Php130 with add-ons)
Burgers range from Php30 to Php125, isn't that affordable? What I loved about the burger is the 100% pure beef patty (not cooked with oil FYI) and grilled buns. My Super Deluxe Burger has 200g of pure beef! I hope I'm not making anyone drool. Jes got the Double Burger but I did not seem to comprehend the difference between them because they looked similar, or was I not just observant? For photo's sake, we had add-ons for only Php5 and it includes, lettuce, cucumber, tomato and onions.

Some more photos inside. Sorry, camera was not cooperating.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, is about two men who were competing to swindle an heiress. Random. This was something I was familiar with, including Les Miserables and Cats, stage plays I personally watched before.

So after an hour of devouring our burgers, we said goodbye to the ladies who work there (yes feeling close) for the affordable and satisfying meal (actually lunch) and allowing us to take photos inside (well everyone's allowed) and the smiles and good service.
